Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the KMFAP and the DRC
 

On the 1st December 2023 in Kinshasa – the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) – a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of the DRC and the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of Autonomous Priories (KMFAP).

The Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo was represented by the General Secretary for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Francophonie, H.E. Bertin Kibondo Munganga, accompanied by his colleagues, while the KMFAP delegation was headed by the Regional Diplomatic Coordinator for Central Africa and Nigeria, H.E. Amb. Sir Henri Nsika.


The MoU was signed:
• Considering that the Government of the DRC is making efforts to develop several sectors of national life, notably: health, education, integrated agriculture, infrastructure, foreign trade, energy and environment, etc.
• Considering that the ministry responsible for international cooperation has the mission of seeking, negotiating and mobilizing external resources
• And that KMFAP intervenes in several vital sectors by supporting in particular medical assistance, education, culture, development and tourism

Taking into account that the Parties share the same vision, particularly with regard to access to healthcare, quality education, the development of integrated agriculture, infrastructure, foreign trade, energy and tourism, both Parties intend to implement development cooperation projects and programs.
They strive to further develop their cooperation with the aim of contributing to the effective realisation of common goals, so to achieve, through sustained effort, the Sustainable Development Goals.
