Court Judgements – Károly András Nagy sued the leaders of the Knights of Malta (KMFAP)
 

In March 2019, Károly András Nagy (aka Charles) sued the Grand Master and the Attorney General of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories (KMFAP) for defamation in the Hungarian court!


Judgement of the court of first instance:

The Buda Central District Court on the 9th July 2019, without holding a hearing, issued the following

ORDER:

The Court terminates the criminal proceeding initiated against José Manuel Costa Da Veiga Cosmelli for defamation, a misdemeanour contrary to Section 226 (1) and (2) a) of the Criminal Code.

Judgement of the court of second instance:

The Court of Appeal of Budapest, as a court of second instance in Budapest, at the council meeting on the 20th September 2019, has adopted the following

JUDGEMENT

In the criminal case initiated against José Manuel Costa Da Veiga Cosmelli for defamation, the order of the Buda Central District Court – under the number 24. Bpk.1172/2019/2. – issued on the 9th July 2019 is upheld.

Furthermore, we would like to inform all our Dames and Knights that the “Cryptotari” project – organised by Charles and his family – has never been approved by the KMFAP. Károly András Nagy started this mission as a private business with such a promise that the company will support the humanitarian activities of our Order! Neither the Knights of Malta, nor its leaders entered any partnership in the project!
